For the past nine years, I’ve watched the NBC coverage of Ironman Hawaii, captivated by the sheer strength and determination of the athletes making their way through the lava fields and enduring the crosswinds of Kona. I was always curious what the feeling of running down Alii Drive to the sounds of Mike Reilly’s voice echoing out over the hundreds of thousands of spectators, making the place the most sacred in our sport.

I’ve wanted to feel that for a long time…and now I’m so happy to say, I will.
